“Marshall moves through the world in a stream of poetry, words flowing from his pen and exhaling from his guitar as naturally as the sun shines on cotton fields.” – Texas Monthly
Austin, TX – February 15, 2024 – Marshall Anderson, a steadfast singer-songwriter based in Central Texas, is set to release his latest single, “Binghamton” on February 15, 2024. “Binghamton” is the first release from Anderson’s upcoming album Scales, and further capitalizes on the Texas native’s lo-fi, indie folk leanings. Inspired by a small red guitar and a nostalgic photograph of his mother, “Binghamton” is a heartfelt reflection of Marshall’s musical journey.
With a minimalist, yet keenly focused production style, a melange of distorted acoustic guitars drive the song’s melancholic motif. Produced, engineered, and mixed by Bryce Brown (Rusty Dusty, Gorbit), “Binghamton” tells the story of finding a new life from an unexplored heritage. Featuring Dees Stribling on drums (Sons of Fathers, David Beck), both the storytelling and musicality behind “Binghamton” are a testament to Anderson’s songwriting and artistry.
Marshall has been featured on KUTX 98.9 (NPR Austin), KTSW 89.9 (Texas State University), and is currently booking a full band tour for 2024.
RIYL: Hovvdy, Joni Mitchell, Elliot Smith
