Austin, TX – Evan Charles is the singer, guitarist, and songwriter behind the Austin-based band Altamesa. Embarking on his first venture outside of his Austin mainstay, Charles is launching a solo career rooted in earnest, poetic songwriting. While Altamesa’s first two full-length albums, The Long Ride Home (2016) and Idol Frontier (2019), both received 4-star reviews in the Austin Chronicle, in the fall of 2019, Charles was selected as one of six Austin-based songwriters to participate in the international touring and documentary film organization Project ATX6, reigniting his passion to put storytelling back to the forefront. Teaming up with Austin-based record label, Mr. Pink Records, Charles is set to release his debut solo album, Between Two Worlds on August 3, 2023.
